Rassemblement de Québécois.e.s, de Canadien.ne.s et d’Américain.e.s pour célébrer nos liens d’amitié et résister ensemble aux politiques oppressives de Donald Trump.
Mères au front Cantons-de-l’Est répond à l’appel lancé par Friends Across Borders, une coalition d'individus, d'organisations et d'élus déterminés à démontrer que les peuples d'Amérique du Nord ne sont pas des ennemis, mais des amis.
Nous nous unissons pour protéger les droits humains et l’environnement essentiels au bonheur de nos enfants. Ensemble, nous voulons protéger la beauté du monde.
Dans un grand champ faisant face à la frontière américaine, vêtus en rouge nous formerons une longue chaîne humaine : la ligne rouge de nos droits démocratiques à défendre en se soulevant ensemble. Après 5 minutes de silence, nous entonnerons tous ensemble « Imagine » de John Lennon. La programmation artistique et politique de l’événement est sous la direction de Brigitte Poupart, Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette et Laure Waridel.

Rally of Canadians and Americans to celebrate our bonds of friendship and stand together against Donald Trump's oppressive policies.
Mères au front – Eastern Townships is answering the call of Friends Across Borders, a coalition of individuals, organizations, and elected officials determined to show that the peoples of North America are not enemies, but friends.
We unite to protect human rights and the environment, which are essential to the happiness of our children.
In a field facing the U.S. border, we will form a human chain. After 5 minutes of silence, we will join together to sing John Lennon's "Imagine." The artistic and political programming of the event is under the direction of Brigitte Poupart, Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette, and Laure Waridel. More information to come.
The public is invited to wear red, the colour of love that makes our hearts beat, but also the colour of our anger in the face of injustice. The event will take place in an open field, so please bring weather-appropriate clothing and anything you might need to eat or drink.
On this International Friendship Day, rallies are planned in many sites along the U.S.-Canada and U.S.-Mexico borders.

L’événement aura lieu en plein champ beau temps, mauvais temps. Il est donc recommandé d’apporter des vêtements adaptés et des chaussures confortables, une couverture pour s'asseoir ainsi que de quoi boire et manger, puisque l'événement se tient loin des commerces.

The event will take place outdoors, rain or shine. We therefore recommend that you bring appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes, a blanket to sit on, and something to eat and drink, as the event is being held far from shops.
Sous la direction artistique de Brigitte Poupart, les participant·es sont invité·es à s’habiller en rouge – couleur de l’amour, mais aussi de la colère face aux injustices.
Plusieurs personnalités prendront brièvement la parole :
• Miriam Hansen (Indivisible)
• Bruce Johnston (avocat et historien)
• Lesly Velázquez (comédienne)
• Melissa Mollen-Dupuis (animatrice et autrice)
• Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette (autrice et réalisatrice, co-fondatrice de Mères au front)
• Laure Waridel (écososiologue PhD et co-fondatrice de Mères au front)
Catherine Major interprètera L’hymne à la beauté du monde accompagnée d’enfants, tandis que 80 papillons migrateurs pollinisateurs s’envoleront, symbolisant l’espoir dans l’action.
L’événement se clôturera par la formation d’une chaîne humaine longeant la frontière. Après cinq minutes de silence, des deux côtés, la foule entonnera Imagine de John Lennon.

Under the artistic direction of Brigitte Poupart, participants are invited to dress in red—the color of love, but also of anger in the face of injustice.
Several prominent figures will give short speeches:
• Miriam Hansen (Montpelier Strong Indivisible)
• Bruce Johnston (lawyer and historian)
• Lesly Velázquez (actress)
• Melissa Mollen-Dupuis (host and author)
• Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette (author and director, co-founder of Mères au front)
• Laure Waridel (ecososiologist PhD and co-founder of Mères au front)
Catherine Major will perform L’hymne à la beauté du monde accompanied by children, while 80 pollinating migratory butterflies will take flight, symbolizing hope in action.
The event will conclude with the formation of a human chain along the border. After five minutes of silence, the crowd on both sides will sing John Lennon's Imagine.
La population est invitée à porter du rouge, la couleur de l’amour qui fait battre nos cœurs, mais aussi celle de notre colère face aux injustices. L’événement aura lieu en plein champ. Des vêtements adaptés à la température sont donc à prévoir ainsi que de quoi boire et manger au besoin, car il n’y a pas de commerce sur le site.

Une navette sera disponible sur place afin d'emmener les personnes qui auront eu à se stationner le long de la route, à proximité du lieu de rencontre.

A shuttle will be available to facilitate mobility from the parking zone to the Canadian border where everybody will meet up.
